About INSERM

Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale (INSERM) is France’s premier public research institute dedicated to biomedical and public health research. Its activities cover a wide array of health domains, including cancer, genetics, neuroscience, infectious diseases, and reproductive health, through a network of research units and collaborations. Infrastructure: Over 300 research units, collaborative networks.

Lille University Hospital: CHU Lille and ONCOLille (CNRS-Inserm)
The onco-fertility observatory is a regional program that is part of the ART and Fertility Preservation center of the Lille University Hospital on behalf of the project “elle va guérir puis voudra un enfant” (i-e: “she will be cured and then wish a child”).  All “hauts-de France” cancer centers (adult and pediatric; public and private) collaborate with this platform. The observatory is funded by both regional and national oncology agency (onco hauts de France and INCA).

Lyon: Centre Léon Bérard, Unité INSERM RESHAPE et Hôpital Femme Mère Enfant
Centre Léon Bérard is a major stakeholder in the fight against cancer, located in Lyon. 100% dedicated to oncology, it has a hospital and research centre on its site, and offers innovative healthcare services. A medical gynaecology team offers a dedicated gynecological management of adolescents and young women treated for cancer (systematic on-site oncofertility consultation, contraceptive counselling, menopause, sexual health), and work closely with the Assisted Reproduction Team at Hôpital Femme Mère Enfant for fertility preservation.
INSERM Reshape is a research laboratory in France. It focuses on public health and healthcare systems, with an emphasis on improving the performance of healthcare professionals and services. The team has developed expertise in working with large databases such as the SNDS.

Angers University Hospital: Centre Hospitalier Universitaire d’ Angers (CHU Angers)
The Angers University Hospital (CHU Angers) is both a local care institution and a national referral center, recognized for its expertise in rare and complex conditions. With 60 clinical and biological services and 51 certified reference and resource centers, it provides comprehensive care, including in pediatric oncology and long-term survivorship.
As a key member of the GOCE network (Grand Ouest Cancers de l’Enfant) and active contributor to the LOG-after research program, CHU Angers plays a central role in the development of structured long-term follow-up for childhood cancer survivors in Western France.
Deeply committed to ethical reflection and participatory approaches, CHU Angers maintains strong collaboration with the EREPL (Espace de Réflexion Éthique des Pays de la Loire, a regional platform targeting ethics questions) and integrates the voices of former patients, families, and professionals in shaping care pathways. This ethical dimension reinforces the hospital’s mission to deliver human-centered, respectful, and inclusive care.
Through its affiliation with HUGO (Hôpitaux Universitaires du Grand Ouest), the hospital also contributes actively to academic training, translational research, and innovation in survivorship medicine.

Lille University Hospital: CHU Lille and ONCOLille (CNRS-Inserm)
Pr DECANTER is a member of the advisory board of the HORIZON project PredictAYA and co-lead of WP4 dedicated to both retrospective and prospective analysis of European cohorts of AYA patients to investigate the late effects of cancer treatments on gonadal function and further fertility. Close collaboration also with the WP6 concerning pregnancies incidence and outcomes in survivors.

Lyon: Centre Léon Bérard, Unité INSERM RESHAPE et Hôpital Femme Mère Enfant
Implications in WP2 (GYN-AJA cohort: population based cohort, French National Health Data System (SNDS) covering all reimbursed care and data on fertility preservation in 15-25 females treated for cancer);
Implications in WP4 and WP6 for retrospective and prospective cohorts of female AYA cancer patients.
Christine Rousset-Jablonski is also a member of the PredictAYA executive board.

Angers University Hospital: Centre Hospitalier Universitaire d’ Angers (CHU Angers)
CHU Angers is a center for inclusion in both the retrospective and prospective components of the clinical study, and leads one of the core tasks within Work Package 1 (WP1). In partnership with the EREPL (Espace de Réflexion Éthique des Pays de la Loire) — the regional platform for ethical reflection in healthcare — CHU Angers will organize an Ethical Reflection Group. This group will build on the hospital’s ongoing work in the e-QuoL project to explore the ethical, social, and medical dimensions of fertility issues in Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) cancer survivors.
