The Department of Gynecological Endocrinology and Fertility Disorders is one of the leading REI centers in Germany. Heidelberg was the initiating center for fertility preservation in the German speaking countries. Furthermore, the university of Heidelberg was always part of the FertiPROTEKT network executive baord and has a lead in fertility preservation consultations for female and male patients. We actively participate in the analysis of the assessment of gonadotoxicity by new oncological treatments (Fertitox).
In the PredictAYA project, patients for the assessment of gonadotoxicity are recruited and followed up for the assessment of gonadotoxicity (WP4 and WP5), as well as chance of conception in the follow up (WP6). The Department leads the communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities within the German participants in these WPs.
