First Patient and Relatives Advisory Board Meeting

On March 26, PredictAYA held the first meeting of its Patient and Relatives Advisory Board (PRAB), marking an important step in strengthening meaningful patient engagement in the project. The online meeting was organised by PredictAYA members from Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital, Region Stockholm.

The PRAB brings together 13 young people from different European countries with lived experience of cancer. The group reflects different cancer diagnoses, treatments, and personal experiences, ensuring that diverse patient perspectives are represented and shape our activities.

The first meeting brought together AYA patients, survivor advocates, and PredictAYA members to introduce and discuss the project. It was a great opportunity for participants to get to know one another and start collaborating.

In a next step, PRAB members will provide feedback on a PredictAYA questionnaire focused on contraception. A follow-up workshop will also be organised on risk prediction for fertility outcomes related to cancer and the handling of genetic data.

The PRAB is key for embedding patient voices within PredictAYA and ensuring that lived experience are central to the project’s development.

We warmly thank all PRAB members for their time, openness, and commitment. We look forward to the next meeting and to everything we will achieve together.
