EU Cancer Mission Webinar and Dialogue with Young Cancer Survivors

On March 2, 2026, PredictAYA members had the pleasure of participating in two important EU Cancer Mission events in Brussels, focused on improving the quality of life (QoL) for adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer survivors.

5th workshop of the EU Cancer Mission dialogue with AYA patients

PredictAYA coordinator Prof. Kenny Rodriguez-Wallberg and Dr. Hanna Nilsson (Karolinska Institutet) presented the project during the fifth workshop of the EU Cancer Mission dialogue with AYA cancer patients and survivors. The workshop is part of an ongoing series launched by the European Commission in 2023 under the EU Cancer Mission.

The workshop took stock of progress made since the first AYA dialogue in 2023 and explored how research and innovation are responding to the challenges identified by the survivor community. The group also discussed future priorities for the EU Cancer Mission’s work with AYA survivors. PredictAYA joined the discussion alongside our synergy projects TRANSCEND-XR, MAYA, PanCare4AYA, EU-CiP and YARN. The discussion underlined the need to continue strengthening AYA patient engagement and cross-border collaboration.

You can find out more about the dialogue with young cancer survivors here.

The workshop report is available online.

In the afternoon, we were proud to present PredictAYA at the EU Health Policy Platform (EUHPP) Cancer Mission Cluster Policy webinar on Quality of Life.

As part of the Cancer Mission Cluster Quality of Life (AYA), PredictAYA contributed to the discussion on how EU project clustering and structured patient engagement can support research and innovation for better outcomes for young people affected by cancer.

Prof. Kenny Rodriguez-Wallberg represented PredictAYA in a panel discussion together with colleagues from PanCare4AYA, TRANSCEND-XR, Youth Cancer Europe, EU-CiP, eQuol and other key initiatives working towards improved quality of life for cancer survivors in Europe.
